Recently we were introduced to the educational resource company Mentoring Minds.

However, our favorite resource is their Critical Thinking Wheel. If you are a principal reading this review, we highly suggest you click over and purchase one for each of your teachers. So often we get stuck asking the same types of questions, this wheel will make it easier for you to move away from those go-to questions.

Upon closer examination of these instruction books, I noticed that many of them were for computers and software that I no longer use or even own.

More importantly, most were still in shrink-wrap, never opened. 25 Question Stems Framed Around Bloom's Taxonomy.

Activity: Collaborative Web 2.0 Google Presentation This activity on Webb’s Depth of Knowledge and Web 2.0 tools will have us all working as a group to create a Google Presentation. It’s Picture Book Month and I have picture books on my mind. For example, if a standard asks students to infer and demonstrate an author’s position using evidence from the text, there’s a lot built into that kind of task.

We will create a Google Presentation highlighting Web 2.0 tools as they correlate to Webb’s Depth of Knowledge. Part One: Each student must create AT LEAST two slides that showcases a Web 2.0 tool and the corresponding level and description of Webb’s Depth of Knowledge (other than Facebook, Twitter, or You Tube) that can be used to support the curriculum. First a student has to be able to define what an “author’s position” is and what “evidence from the text” means (Knowledge-level).

We envision this being used in classrooms where students have been introduced to Bloom’s Taxonomy.

As part of classroom projects, students can use the Student Wheel to make sure they are addressing each section in the hierarchy.

Teachers will record key words they would like to focus on and their approach to addressing each section.

This planner will then be used as teachers put together their unit of study.
